Onion skin
Onion skin ghosts the frames around the current one so you can line up motion.

Turn it on#
Tool rail ▸ Onion section, or Timeline menu ▸ Onion skin.
Settings#
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Previous / Next | How many frames back / forward to show (0–4 each). |
| Ghost opacity | Overall strength of the ghost frames. |
| Prev opacity / Next opacity | Fine-tune each direction separately. |
| Onion: layer / all | Ghost only the active layer, or the full composite. |
| Onion tint / raw | Tint colours previous frames one hue and next frames another (classic red / blue); raw shows them in their real colours. |
| Onion above / below | Draw the ghosts over or under your current art. |
| Onion across tags / in sequence | Whether ghosting wraps across a tag boundary or stops at it. |
For walk cycles, set Previous 1 / Next 1 with tint on — you get a clear before/after without clutter. Bump to 2/2 for smears and fast action.
