Accessibility
Ambersprite is built to work with the iPadOS accessibility features.
VoiceOver#
- Every tool, panel control, menu item and swatch has a spoken label and, where useful, a hint.
- The canvas announces the cursor position and the colour under it (
#RRGGBBor the swatch name). - Errors are announced, not just shown.
- Export progress is announced in steps.
Dynamic Type#
Readable text scales with your Text Size setting, up to a sensible ceiling so controls stay usable. At the largest accessibility sizes, Settings rows collapse from a side-by-side label + control into a vertical stack so nothing overlaps. Fixed-width chips (size presets, format names) shrink to fit rather than truncating.
Reduce Motion#
With Reduce Motion on, transitions are removed and the decorative glow around active controls is disabled. The idle render loop still keeps the canvas responsive.
Reduce Transparency#
Translucent panel materials are replaced with solid fills.
Increase Contrast#
Turning on Increase Contrast switches Ambersprite to its High Contrast theme automatically — pure black / white chrome with bright accents. You can still pick any other theme manually afterwards.
Haptics#
Button presses and undo / redo give a subtle haptic tap. Turn it off under Settings ▸ Feedback ▸ Haptic feedback.
Pointer / trackpad#
A connected trackpad or mouse works as a precise pointer — hover shows the brush ghost, and the same routing as touch applies (draw, select, transform).
